I run this check on my own site, and publish what it says
I sell AI search visibility. It would be strange to ask you to trust that without showing you my own numbers, so here they are, including the parts that are not flattering.
Last run: 12 September 2026.
The half I control
These are the on-site signals, the ones any competent provider should be able to fix.
- Fifteen pages and posts. Fourteen carry page-level structured data. The one that does not is the privacy policy, which does not need any.
- Ten carry FAQ markup. Ten have question-shaped headings with the answer in the first sentence.
- Identity schema resolves on every page, so an engine landing anywhere on this site learns the same thing about who runs the business.
- There is an llms.txt. The robots file blocks no AI crawler.
- The homepage delivers its content in the HTML rather than behind JavaScript, so a crawler gets the page instead of an empty shell.
The half I do not control
Then I asked the engines what a customer would ask. Who does AI search visibility work for small businesses near Brunswick, and who can help a Brunswick business get found by ChatGPT.
ChatGPT named GeoVize first, on both questions, as its explicit pick. It described the business as unusually specialised for this market and ranked it above four established local agencies.
Perplexity named me personally, through an Upwork listing, and not GeoVize. It stated that it found no clearly established Brunswick-based provider centred on AI search visibility.
Google AI Mode did not name GeoVize at all. It named agencies in Atlanta, Gainesville, Buford and Dawsonville, a consultant in Glennville, a Brunswick agency, and the Small Business Development Center on Gloucester Street.
One engine out of three names my business. The on-site work is close to perfect and it buys exactly one of three. That is the whole argument for the off-site half, measured on myself rather than asserted at you.
The finding I did not enjoy
ChatGPT quoted prices I had retired that same morning. It cited a $250 Snapshot and a $600 Audit, with a link to this site, hours after both came off it.
Nothing forces these systems to re-read you. The gap between changing a page and the engines noticing is real, and it is the part most people selling this work do not mention.
What happens to this page
Stay Named is the monthly service I sell. I run it on myself first.
Every month I re-run these same questions by hand, check my name, address and phone for drift across my profile, site, schema and directories, revalidate my own markup, and build or correct outside citations. Then I update this page with the new results, including the ones that do not go my way.
If off-site corroboration is what decides this, the honest test is whether it moves my own numbers. You get to watch it happen. Ask anyone else you are considering for the same thing. It is one of the questions on my guide to choosing someone for this work.
Want the same check on your site?
Send your business name and your website. I run it by hand, the same way I just ran my own, and tell you whether you show up, who shows up instead of you, and which sources those tools are citing. No charge and no call required.
